By using bookwrit.ing at bookwrit.ing, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

What bookwrit.ing is

bookwrit.ing is a free writing app made by Jonah Feinberg. It is provided as a personal project and may change, have bugs, or stop working. Features can be added or removed at any time.

Your content is yours

You keep ownership of everything you write and upload. You give bookwrit.ing permission to store, copy, and display your content only as needed to run the app for you and the people you choose to share with: for example, saving it, syncing it between your devices, and showing it to collaborators. bookwrit.ing will not publish your books or use them for any other purpose.

Your responsibilities

• You are responsible for what you write, upload, and share, and for having the right to use it.
• Do not use bookwrit.ing to store or share anything illegal, to harass or threaten others, to infringe someone’s rights, or to spread malware.
• Do not try to access other people’s books or accounts, overload the service, or bypass its limits or security.
• You are responsible for your Google account and the devices you sign in on.
• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

Sharing and collaboration

When you share a book, you decide who can read, comment, or edit it. Editors can change or remove your writing. Share only with people you trust, and keep a backup. Other people’s comments and edits are their own responsibility.

Backups

bookwrit.ing tries hard to keep your work safe, but data can be lost through bugs, browser problems, or outages. Use File → Export to keep your own copies of anything important.

Suspending or ending use

You can stop using bookwrit.ing at any time and delete your account from the Account menu. bookwrit.ing may remove content or suspend accounts that break these terms or put the service at risk. bookwrit.ing may also change or end the service; where possible you will be given notice to download your work.

No warranty

bookwrit.ing is provided “as is” and “as available”, without promises that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for a particular purpose.

Limit of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, bookwrit.ing and its maker are not liable for any indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data or lost profits, arising from your use of the service. Because bookwrit.ing is free, any liability that cannot be excluded is limited to the maximum amount the law allows.

Copyright concerns

If you believe content in bookwrit.ing infringes your rights, contact support with the details and it will be reviewed promptly.

Changes

These terms may be updated. The date above shows the latest version. Continuing to use bookwrit.ing after a change means you accept it.
